Description

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely auditing of weekly payroll for a multi-site manufacturing company employing both union and non-union hourly and salaried employees. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), and internal policies while providing analytical support and payroll reporting to HR, Finance, and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities: Audit weekly payroll for multiple manufacturing locations across multiple states, including both union and non-union employee groups. Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements to ensure proper application and payment remittance of union dues, pension, and health benefits. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, as well as union requirements and company policy. Prepare payroll reports and data extracts for internal use, audits, and third-party requests (e.g., union reporting, state filings). Assist with payroll tax filings, W-2 preparation, and year-end reporting. Provide prompt and professional support to employee payroll inquiries. Recommend and assist with process improvements and system enhancements to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency. Maintain calendar indicating scheduled pay increases and dates when employees are to be added to benefit programs that require payroll deductions. Work with HR, Finance, IT and other teams to understand reporting needs and translate business requirements into Paycom reports. Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Experience:

3+ years of payroll experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; must have experience processing weekly payroll and handling union payroll requirements. Technical Skills:

Proficient in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas); experience with payroll systems such as Paycom, ADP, or UKG; familiarity with timekeeping platforms like Paycom, Kronos or equivalent. Knowledge:

Understanding of wage and hour laws (FLSA), payroll tax compliance, and union-specific payroll handling. Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail; analytical mindset; ability to maintain confidentiality; good communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications:

CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) Experience supporting payroll across multiple union contracts and plant locations Familiarity with grievance pay, retroactive pay calculations, and multi-state payroll processing
