Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our Rare Earth processing plant. Reporting to the SVP of Operations and Assets, the Operations Manager will drive performance, quality, and safety of the Plant Operations spanning beneficiation, hydrometallurgy, rare earth separation and product finishing.
Position Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership and Continuous Improvement Lead and support superintendents, shift supervisors, and hourly staff across the various production departments Execute against production targets set by senior leadership Enhance a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration Implement systems to improve coordination and alignment of efforts Ensure continuous improvement of the operation Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot complex process issues and lead root-cause analysis for deviations or unplanned downtime Support capital project teams to commission new equipment or process upgrades. Oversee the expansion of operations to include new scopes Safety & Compliance
Champion a strong safety culture; ensure all operations meet MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and other state and county regulatory and permit requirements Oversee process safety management (PSM) elements including operating procedures, training, and hazard analyses People Management
Supervise and develop superintendents, shift supervisors, operators, and support staff; provide coaching, training, and performance feedback Foster teamwork and accountability across departments Coordinate cross-functional communication between operations, maintenance, engineering, and technical teams Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of operations management experience in mineral processing, chemical production, or complex manufacturing Must be able to flex schedule to support 24/7 x 365 plant operations, including responding to emergency issues or critical events outside of normal business hours Must possess exceptional leadership, communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills Must be able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial setting Must be a quick study of complex engineering and process designs Must possess strong communication skills and attention to detail Desired Qualities:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field including Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering Experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and six sigma methodologies Desire to learn and grow within a dynamic industrial setting

Working Conditions
- Our facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
Physical Demands
-Manual dexterity; sense of touch; sense of smell; speaking clearly; hearing-speech range; hearing - all ranges; seeing, reading and comprehensions; seeing - distant/near; depth perception; color vision. While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C.
