Field Technician for Grain Management Systems Work Location: Peoria, IL, Springfield IL, Rockford IL Duration: 6 months with possible conversion to Full-time Education/Experience Required: Entry Level, Tech School graduate
Job Description & Responsibilities : Responsibilities: **** This remote position offers the flexibility of working from home with travel commitments ranging from 30% to 60%. If you prefer a role without travel, this may not be the ideal fit for you. *** **** Experience with elevator operations, good electrical and/or networking skills, and willingness to travel are advantageous. **** NTEP or Handbook 44 knowledge - a plus. Electrical control wiring knowledge - required (intermediate level). Hydraulic system operation knowledge (basic level). Grain handling equipment knowledge - a major plus.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting specifically for truck scale automation systems, rail load-out systems, addressing user inquiries and issues efficiently. - Utilize Zoho Desk or similar systems to track and document support requests related to the Grain Management Software. - Collaborate with a team to identify and implement solutions for technical problems specific to grain management software. - Assist in the maintenance and administration of network systems, encompassing LAN and firewall configurations, tailored for Grain Management Software operations. - Communicate effectively with users, providing clear instructions and guidance for technical issues pertaining to the software. - Perform software and hardware troubleshooting and provide remote assistance when necessary for the Grain Management Software. - Travel to customer locations for on-site troubleshooting and installations. - Work as a member of a Technical Support "hunt group" to field calls related to maintenance, configuration and operation of software and hardware systems installed at grain elevators, Ethanol production plants, food processing facilities and Export Houses.
Requirements: - Prior experience in technical support within an IT environment, ideally with exposure to grain management or related industries. - Knowledge of network systems (LAN and firewall configurations), electrical control wiring, IT infrastructure, including desktop support, operating systems, and software troubleshooting, with a focus on Grain Management Software. - Familiarity with ticketing systems for tracking and managing support requests. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with users within the grain management field. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. - Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues related to operation of grain storage and handling facilities.
