Position Summary

The Marketing Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Library's overall marketing and communications strategy, implementing internal and external strategies, and campaigns. This position oversees day-to-day operations of the Marketing Department and gathers data to help guide future library campaigns and strategies. This position is highly creative and is responsible for the creation, distribution, and supervision of promotional items, event guides and virtual-based platforms such as the website and social media accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Community Engagement Manager and senior leadership to develop communication strategies that broaden its reach and deepen the impact of the Library. Develops, implements, and oversees library's branding efforts, and creates frameworks and communication standards, including style guides, voice and tone guidelines, editorial standards, and workflows. Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the department; assists with the preparation and administration of assigned budget(s). Conducts analytical studies; develops and reviews reports of findings, alternatives and recommendations; directs the maintenance of accurate records and files. Oversee the creation, editing, delivery, and optimization of marketing materials. Identifies significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support JCLS. Serves as primary editor of the Library's communications with the public. Execute social media strategy and content. Works closely with the Community Engagement Manager to respond to inquiries about JCLS from the public and outside agencies. Supervises and manages marketing department staff. Promotes and supports the overall mission of the Library by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment. JCLS has a 16-step salary schedule with each step at 1.5%. The starting salary will be based on steps 1-5 on Grade Q of the schedule. New hires are placed based on applicable education and experience to the job, as well as keeping within Oregon state pay equity laws. The starting range for this position is $32.77 to $34.82 per hour. Staff members who pass a Spanish language competency test are eligible for a Bilingual Stipend per JCLS policy.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution with major coursework in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or a related field OR the equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described. Five years' experience with communications, marketing, public relations or media relations. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college with major coursework in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, fundraising or a related field. Supervisory experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES

Criminal background check required. Driver's License required - to get to meetings and events at locations throughout the County.
