Description
As a
Guidance, Navigation, and Control Manager
at Impulse Space, you will lead a world-class team implementing GNC for space vehicles including propulsive satellites, large transfer vehicles/kick stages, and landers.
Responsibilities Lead and grow a team of GNC engineers working on our portfolio of spacecraft Mentor engineers in their professional growth Evaluate the technical performance of team members Champion continuous improvement in the GNC system and analysis/verification simulations Partake in GNC architectural trades and design for new vehicles Organize and track team progress on a variety of projects Evaluate GNC algorithm design and implementation Communicate GNC needs to the broader engineering team Work with the business development team to identify and capture new opportunities Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline 7+ years of experience in spacecraft GNC design and analysis 2+ years of experience with direct report management in a technical leadership role Proficiency in Matlab and C++ Experience performing control analysis in time and frequency domains, estimation theory, or astrodynamics Preferred Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience developing and managing GNC platforms in growing company environment Demonstrated experience in upper stage or lander control Experience with vehicle-GNC design processes, from concept, through design reviews and implementation Experience with rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) or formation flying Experience in a startup or agile development environment Experience in spacecraft operations
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the
form of stock options , and access to
medical, vision & dental coverage
as well as
access to a 401(k) retirement plan .
