We are seeking an experienced Avionics Development Technician with a strong background in assembling, integrating, and testing avionics hardware for aerospace systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with flight and non-flight electronics, follows IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 standards, and is comfortable working from schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures. This role involves supporting prototype builds, system bring-up, troubleshooting, and collaborating closely with engineers. Experience with avionics racks, junction boxes, and spacecraft wire harnesses is essential.

This is a temporary position that can last up to six months, depending on Astrolab's project needs and timelines.

What you'll do: Assemble, wire, and integrate avionics hardware including circuit boards, harnesses, enclosures, and sensors Support prototyping, bring-up, and test of avionics systems in lab and vehicle environments Read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams (including IPC/AS standards) Execute test procedures and collect data for functional, performance, and environmental testing Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving power distribution, signal integrity, and system interfaces Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other lab equipment for diagnostics Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software integration activities with test benches and simulators Collaborate with electrical, software, mechanical, and systems engineers during all phases of development Maintain documentation of builds, tests, and system configurations for traceability Assist in the setup and maintenance of avionics test stations and development labs What you'll bring:

Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience 3+ years of hands-on experience in avionics assembly, test, or development environments Proficiency in soldering, crimping, and harness fabrication (IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications preferred) Familiarity with flight hardware standards and aerospace development practices Experience with test instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DAQs, etc.) Ability to follow and contribute to procedures and technical work instructions Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings and results accurately Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with aerospace or spaceflight-grade electronics (NASA, DoD, or commercial space) Familiarity with embedded systems and software-hardware integration Knowledge of environmental and EMI testing processes Experience with configuration management tools and test data systems Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally Standing, bending, and working with small components for extended periods Good vision and fine motor skills for precision electrical assembly work What We Offer:
