Primary Purpose
Assist in providing safe, orderly, and supportive transportation for students with disabilities and special needs. Supporting the driver by offering personal care and custodial assistance to students with diverse, physical, emotional, and medical needs during a split shift workday. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Follow prescribed Clear Creek ISD policy and procedures according to IEPs in the loading/unloading/securing of student(s). Reports to work at scheduled work time and follows District and department attendance policies and procedures. Comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) to assure student behavior and records are confidential. Provide direct and indirect behavior management, observations, and student discipline assistance during the transport of students with disabilities. Maintain an appropriate student management environment, be familiar with and follow student Behavior Intervention Plan, document and report inappropriate and unacceptable behavior to driver and/or supervisor. Must attend training scheduled by the transportation department to further the safety of the transported students (i.e. CPI, CPR, etc.) Assist in maintaining up to date seating charts for all assigned routes. Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs. Communicate with school personnel and parents as needed about student behavior while on the bus. Assist driver in maintaining appropriate paperwork related to bus route and students transported. Assist driver in maintaining a clean bus. Properly and safely use tools/chemicals/equipment. Must attend all safety training courses as provided by or instructed by the department. Follow the established CCISD accident procedures and protocols; accurately complete all necessary reporting both verbally and written of vehicle damage, student injuries and mechanical failures. Must perform emergency evacuation of student(s), if needed, to include the need to lift student(s) in emergency situations. Physically access and operate all emergency equipment and emergency exits, including front, rear and side emergency doors, roof hatches, and emergency windows. Ensure that the proper safety equipment (Ex: tie-downs, seat belts, besi seats, wheelchairs, etc.) is onboard, in proper working condition, and utilized based on students' needs. Communicate with schools, students, and community in such a manner as to encourage cooperation and respect. Monitor on district vehicles for extracurricular activities as needed. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
