JMT Architecture has an immediate opening for an Interior Designer to join our growing studio in Hunt Valley, MD that embraces work-life balance within a flexible working environment. The candidate for this position will work in collaboration with the Interior Design and Architecture groups to provide services in all Design Studios.
Position summary: Responsible for providing interior design services on a variety of commercial projects.
Compensation for this position is $70,000.00-$90,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Manage multiple commercial interiors projects
Skilled in all phases of design process – programming, space planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration
Provide project team coordination for finish plans, specifications and material selections required for construction
Develop selection of furniture systems/ specifications. Coordinate and collaborate with furniture vendor through ordering and installation of materials
Manage client expectations and consultant coordination
Produce design drawings in AutoCAD & Revit
Knowledge of current building codes
Nonessential functions and responsibilities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Revit
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative and professional work ethic
Ability to work well in teams and with multiple disciplines
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Creative Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign is preferred
Required Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
5-10 years of work experience
Licensed Interior Designer CID (in Maryland)
Preferred Experience
Experience with computer-assisted design software such as Enscape
Working Conditions
JMT Architecture offers a hybrid work schedule. Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
