MISSION STATEMENT: The Upper Moreland Township School District is an educational institution working in partnership with the community to provide all students with educational opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, behaviors, and habits of mind necessary for excellence and success as critical thinkers, as caring and confident individuals, and as contributing members of society. Students of the Upper Moreland Township School District will be provided with the foundation and skills necessary to excel in the exciting, complex, and interdependent world in which they live.
SUMMARY: The Chief Science Officer (CSO) Club Advisor will lead and mentor students as they develop leadership skills, advocate for STEM, and engage in real-world experiences that promote innovation. This role involves guiding students through planning and executing STEM events, organizing guest speaker sessions, and coordinating industry tours or virtual experiences. The advisor will foster student voice, support action planning, and build connections with local STEM professionals and organizations. Strong organizational, communication, and mentorship skills are essential, along with a passion for empowering student leaders in science education. The advisor will also collaborate with regional CSO coordinators, participate in trainings, and help students document and share their progress. A certified educator with experience in science or STEM fields is preferred. Familiarity with student-led projects and community engagement is a plus. This is a school-year position with flexible scheduling based on club activities and occasional regional event attendance.
