Diagnostic Perinatal Sonographer

Responsible for providing patient services using medical ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. Performs appropriate ultrasound procedures and records anatomical pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician. Assists the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases. Obtains reviews and integrates pertinent patient medical history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results. Provides patient education related to medical ultrasound. Records and processes sonographic data. Provides patient services in a variety of medical settings. Performs quality assurance checks on equipment ensuring proper safety standards are met. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Position Compensation Range: $32.62 - $52.19 Hourly MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound or echocardiography ultrasound certification with either CCI or ARDMS; Associate's degree preferred. License/Certification: Credentials from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, driving (occasionally for outreach clinics); reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: Manipulation of ultrasound transducer. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs.
