Job DetailsJob LocationGreater New Bedford Area - New Bedford, MADescriptionSummary: The RN Supervisor develops standards and procedures for providing and evaluating medical care, supervises and coordinates nursing care in residential and vocational settings at Better Community Living.Employment Status:Exempt, Full TimeEmployment StatusMonday to Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM, with occasional nights and weekends to meet the needs of our consumers as well as on-call responsibilities.Full time, ExemptReports to Clinical DirectorKey ResponsibilitiesPlanning, directing, and overseeing all nursing services within the agencyDeveloping and implementing effective nursing policies which complement the agency's MissionEnsures high quality medical care and quality of lifeReviews, evaluates, and interprets nursing records, vital statistics and other data affecting health servicesMonitors record keeping in compliance with DDS and MAP regulationsRepresents the agency in the community, with guardians, family, and medical professionalsAssigns, directs, evaluates nursing personnelAssists in planning and presenting educational programs for nurses, and professional staffProvides MAP certification trainingsAssists with ISP processProvides education and training to consumers regarding health related topicsProvides close oversight when consumers are hospitalized and communicates their progress to the BCL and DDS teamsAttends consumers' medical appointments as appropriate to provide advocacy and information sharing with the teamOther duties, as assignedWorking ConditionsWorking conditions require kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, talking and hearing. The physical requirements are light work, which, requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work. The visual acuity requires preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer, extensive reading and visual inspection. Working conditions include minor environmental hazards and related hazards associated with residential group home setting.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's DegreeRN LicenseAt least 18 years of agePossess a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least three years.Successfully pass a CORI check, Fingerprint, Drug Test, and a Driving Record Check.Must be available complete training and certifications including, but, not limited to, First Aid, CPR, Human Rights, Safety Care.Must have MAP Trainer/Consultant Certification or ability to receive MAP Trainer/Consultant Certification within 6 months of hire.Strong technology skillsStrong assessment, counseling and advocacy skillsAbility to handle diverse patient caseload with complex care needsAt least 3 years' experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.Salary:$70,000 - $100,000 to commensurate with education and experience.Benefits: BCL offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition, and 401k and life insurance options for all eligible employees.Employment decisions will be based on the principles of equal opportunity.
