Job DetailsJob LocationOnslow Memorial Hospital - Jacksonville, NCPosition TypeFull Time 0.8Job ShiftDayDescriptionPrepares processes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue preparations of material derived from the human body to provide material to a pathologist for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.Prepares immunohistochemical clinical laboratory examinations including antigen detection testing and related immunohistological procedures including quality control and validation studies.May assist in autopsy procedures or cytology preparation procedures as appropriate.As part of the job description of all employees of the Onslow County Hospital Authority, the employee may be directed to render services within the scope if his/her job description to an affiliate of the Onslow County Hospital Authority pursuant to an arrangement between the two entities.In such instances, the employee will be acting within the scope of his/her employment by the Authority, as an employee whose services have been leased to the affiliated entity. QualificationsEducation/Certification:Associate in Science Degree in Histology preferredBachelor Degree in clinical laboratory science, one of the specialty areas, or one of chemical or biological science preferredASCP certified or eligible as a hisotechnician or histotechnologistExperience:Two years of experience preferred
