Job Opportunity: Interventional Cardiac Procedures Assistant

This position offers up to $30,000 in signing bonus for external candidates as well as internal per diem to full time conversions! Position Summary: To assist the physician in the performance of interventional cardiac procedures, with a clear understanding and demonstration of the principles of sterile technique. Maintain a collaborative relationship with the interventional team including physicians, nursing and ancillary staff in the department. Contribute to the operational duties of the entire department. Education, License & Cert

+ One of the following is required + LPN License + Graduate of approved Surgical Tech program + Graduate of Accredited Radiological Technologist program, and maintains ARRT. + Associate degree Preferred + Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) preferred + Appropriate medical training background as deemed appropriate by dept. Experience

One year experience of Cardiovascular Interventional procedures preferred (Electrophysiology and/or Interventional Cardiology) Essential Functions

Exhibits knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system. Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to area of practice (ie Electrophysiology(EP) or Interventional Cardiology (CCL) Practices within the scope of current policies and procedures of the hospital, nursing department and unit guidelines Applies principles of sterilization and disinfection to promote an infection-free environment Demonstrates the ability to communicate key clinical observations to the physician as well as all team members Prepares/assemblies sterile and non-sterile supplies as needed Demonstrates competency in emergency situations and use of emergency equipment Maintains safe environment by keeping equipment clear and in working order. Reports any need for repair/replacement Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiation Assists with cleaning and stocking rooms daily Willing to cross-train to other duties within the department. Attends and participates in department meetings Completes mandatory department and house-wide in-services as required Completes specific annual department competencies, after initial orientation completion Assists in the orientation of new staff. Utilizes positive interpersonal skills in all forms of communications Other Duties
