Polysomnographic Technologist Sr.
A Polysomnographic Technologist Sr. works under the general supervision of the Medical Director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist II can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technologist and provides assigned supervision of other staff. Qualifications: Formal training in polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option OR enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP online Self Study Modules. Non-registered technologists and technicians must complete A-Step online Self Study Modules within two years of enrollment. All technical staff must participate in at minimum 10 hours per year of sleep-related continuing education credits. Minimum 3 years' experience as a fully registered, full-time polysomnographic technologist. Three years' experience working in the field of Sleep Medicine required. CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist-BRPT (Board of Registered) Required or CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry-NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) Required Or CRT-Registered Sleep Technologist-ABSM (American Board of Sleep Medicine Require Or CRT-Basic Life support Required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
