Job Description American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a high-volume adult acute care setting, requiring at least 1 year of independent experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities Work primarily in a hospital-based adult acute care setting with occasional coverage in the main outpatient departmentDuties include bedside echocardiograms for adult patients with advanced cardiac pathology, following ASE protocols and guidelinesAverage patient ratio is 1:8 with approximately 9 visits per dayAdvanced devices encountered include Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and structural heart procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, and LAAOPhilips ultrasound machines are primarily used with GE equipment found mainly in the outpatient facilityEpic and ScImage (PACS) are used for documentation and imagingRotating day shifts from 6:00 AM–2:30 PM and 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with self-schedulingSix weekend shifts are required per contract and floating within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals may be neededDaily duties include advanced cardiac imaging primarily at the bedside in acute care and critical care unitsFollow isolation precautions and provide care for complex cardiac device patientsThree-day orientation program with facility and protocol training is providedRTO after booking is not allowed and excessive call-offs may result in assignment cancellationCandidates must be able to float within the hospital or to affiliated facilities according to skill set and unit needsCandidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignmentReturn staff must have at least 12 months gap before reapplying as a traveler and require facility rehire approvalTravelers living under 50 miles from the facility are considered locals and will be offered a lower rateTeam-based environment with coverage for weekends and variable shiftsTravel pairs are allowed but must be on different units
