Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities Reports to the Health Promotion Director, the Associate Director, Health Promotion is responsible for supporting a culture of holistic well-being. Provides supervision to a multi-disciplinary team and acts as a critical collaborator with campus and community stakeholders. Ensures that departmental programmatic offerings and substance use services are curated to address the campus strategic plan and the unique needs of IU Bloomington students. Plays a critical role in ensuring students are supported holistically by enabling lifelong wellbeing, academic success, and personal development. In collaboration with department director and Health Promotion staff, develop, implement, and evaluate key performance indicators, ensuring that they adequately address the campus and divisional strategic plans. Develops and maintains an outcomes-based health promotion strategy, which incorporates programs, services, and initiatives and emphasizes student learning outcomes. Leads the implementation and reporting of campus-wide health and well-being assessments, including making data informed recommendations to support improvement of population-level health outcomes. Provides programmatic oversight of Wellness rooms initiative, including maintenance and expansion of sites. Takes a leadership role in the development and implementation of evidence-based health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services based on campus needs and priorities. Implements continuous evaluation of health promotion initiatives to measure impact, improve effectiveness, and align with national best practices. Supports and enhances communication for Health Promotion initiatives, including website content, digital signage, social media, and student feedback efforts Recruits and supervises professional staff, including supporting the develop and monitoring of professional goals, and evaluating staff performance. Ensures compliance with relevant policies, laws, and regulations related to health promotion programmatic and training offerings. Manages programming resources and budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities and student needs. Seeks and secures funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships Serves as a member of the Health Promotion leadership team, providing guidance and leadership to departmental staff as needed. Acts as departmental lead in the absence of the Health Promotion Director. Develops and manages critical partnerships with campus partners, external stakeholders, and community partners to support a comprehensive approach toward student well-being. Serves on Office of Student Life and university-wide long-term and ad hoc committees. Collaborates with student organizations, faculty, and staff on health education or health promotion to develop short and long-range programming that align with the mission and vision of the department. Acts as a subject matter expert in assisting non-departmental units with developing health promotion related activities and strategies. Leads or participates in special projects, committees, and task forces related to student wellbeing, public health, or other university initiatives. General Responsibilities

Manages all health and wellness related health programs, including supervision of Health and Wellness educators and program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Works closely with the director to establish Health and Wellness strategies and ensure adherence to best practice on initiatives meeting university-wide goals and objectives. Develops and delivers tailored education programs to raise knowledge of health and wellness behaviors. Plans, organizes and manages the work of staff initiating personnel actions including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, training, evaluating, performance management and corrective action. Collaborates with other units and departments to ensure alignment on Health and Wellness initiatives and development and coordination of special projects. Acts as a resource for other health professionals and drives to provide quality, cost-effective, and caring services. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (preferably in public health or related field) Preferred

3 years experience in health, wellness, nutrition, or related field Preferred

5 years of progressive responsibility in health promotion, health education, or a related field 2 years of experience in higher education 4 years of management experience LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) SKILLS

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
