Job Summary
The Third Floor is seeking a friendly, skilled, and enthusiastic Barista to join our front-of-house team. As a Barista, you will prepare high-quality coffee and tea beverages, provide attentive customer service, and maintain a clean, organized bar area. Youll work collaboratively with the hospitality and kitchen teams to support a smooth and welcoming guest experience. A strong attention to detail and genuine interest in coffee are essential to this role.
Essential Functions Include But May Not Be Limited To
Greet customers as they enter Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios) Prepare beverages following recipes Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins Assist the team in preparing beverages for the dining room Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards) Keep the bar area clean Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs Comply with health and safety regulations Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Qualifications
Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress Hands-on experience with brewing equipment Knowledge of sanitation regulations Flexibility to work various shifts Basic math skills Ability to gauge customers preferences Excellent communication skills

California Food Handler's Card
Work Environment
This job mainly operates on the floor during restaurant hours.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Barista to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the Barista is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. Frequently it is required to use hands and arms to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Barista is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The Barista must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and be able to work in a sitting position for long periods of time.
