Ensure work during your watch complies with safety policies and practices Navigate the vessel safely at all times Train crew members and monitor their performance Carry out duties as vessel security officer under the Vessel Security Plan Ensure crew understands cargo hazards and relevant regulations Enforce company policies and vessel guidelines, supporting Crew Endurance Management System Participate in crew management, performance evaluation, and vessel budgeting Complete log entries and maintain radio watch as required Report certain dangerous cargoes to authorities at designated points Assign tasks to mates and deckhands Follow vessel management policies and procedures Help maintain vessel budget and cost efficiency Provide instructions to crew, land personnel, USCG, and lock personnel What we are looking for...
