Position: Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Manager of Facilities

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The custodian works with a diverse team, ensuring that campus is cleaned and ready for the next school day.
The custodian contributes to fostering the Catholic School culture by serving as a witness to the community. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate via phone, email, and written messages; to ensure that all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner; flexibility, forward thinking and managing deadlines; willingness to seek the latest educational practices and implement; and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude are expected. Your job has when few other people are around on campus so the ability to work independently is a must.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Cleaning office and classrooms Ensuring the building is clean and safe Restocking items Alerting the manager of facilities of areas that need attention Moving lite furniture to clean inspections and lite repair Painting, drywall repair Assist in setting up campus events Safe and Proper use of power tools, scissor lifts, and climbing ladders Ability to see job through to completion and to meet deadlines Performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the principal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience with hand and landscape tools Ability to safely operate gas or electric power tools and landscaping tools Experience with gas and electric maintenance vehicles; i.e., golf carts, gator, tractor... General knowledge of care requirements for landscaping and maintenance Must be able to work independently and on a flexible schedule May be required to work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends Must be able to perform strenuous tasks and can lift 75 lbs. Ability to lift, move and use ladders, lifts, scaffolds and other related equipment PHYSICAL DEMANDS

EVALUATION
The performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures developed by the Diocese of Phoenix and Notre Dame Preparatory under the direction of the Chaplain, Principal, Assistant Principals and Dean of Faculty.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month, full-time, hourly non-exempt employee. The Executive Committee under the guidance of the Diocese of Phoenix establishes base salaries and stipends. A schedule of mandatory days and extra responsibilities is provided prior to the start of a new school year.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Preference given to a practicing Catholic, but faithful persons of other faiths are welcome (admin jobs must be practicing Catholic) Must be willing to make a public Profession of Faith if Catholic; if non-Catholic, willing to support Catholic teachings and philosophy High school degree required Experience preferred Current driver's license Receive Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Conduct. AZ Fingerprint clearance completed. All completed prior to the start date.
