The mission of the Idaho Industrial Commission is to fairly administer the Idaho Workers' Compensation Law.

The position is in the Boise Office on the Chinden Campus, 11321 West Chinden Blvd, Building 2.
The Idaho Industrial Commission is currently recruiting for a Claims Specialist working in the Claims and Benefits Department. This position processes electronic claim filings, performs a variety of calculations to determine whether benefits were paid accurately, and communicates with trading partners. The incumbent will need a strong attention to detail, be organized and self-motivated, and possess effective learning skills. The incumbent will also require the ability to resolve complex issues, interpret data, and handle multiple assignments while meeting timelines.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Review, process, and approve electronic reports ensuring accurate payment of benefits
Perform advance level math calculations
Gather information, issue correspondence, and make independent decisions
Provide report guidance and feedback to trading partners to ensure accurate reporting
Utilize independent judgment and discretion when completing assignments
Provide back up and relief support for the agency reception area and mail room
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Monitoring an electronic records system to identify and correct errors
Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Using word processing and spreadsheet software at an intermediate skill level
Performing complex math calculations
Good knowledge of:
Rules of effective English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
