Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic II position provides advanced electro-mechanical expertise to the manufacturing facility in the areas of manufacturing equipment maintenance/repair and facility/utility maintenance/repair. The Maintenance Mechanic II possesses highly developed knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics electronics PLC controls, VFD's, and power transmission equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic II maintains, troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility, and share knowledge of applicable electrical and mechanical concepts/principles to other maintenance personnel.

Essential Function

Provide troubleshooting and repair of facility electrical equipment, control system problems associated with the hardware and software contained within the facilities PLC, servo controllers, operator interfaces, and VFD systems. As well as all mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Perform all assigned scheduled, preventive and predictive maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.

Monitor the wellbeing of the facility and provide timely pass downs, feedback and professional opinions to management regarding the safe and efficient operation of the facility and its equipment. Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and P&ID's as required

Provide assistance in determining the specifications and requirements of spare parts under the department's spare parts program.

Perform special projects from time to time as assigned by Maintenance management in a cost effective and timely manner.

Inform the appropriate facility personnel of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would affect their area of operation.

Utilize existing and future Maintenance Management Systems effectively. Perform other and incidental duties as assigned.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent with technical school diploma or advanced education in electrical, mechanical or electronic engineering.

Technical school graduate or engineering degree preferred.

Experience

Six years industrial maintenance experience or two years experience and technical school graduate or engineering degree.

Other Skills & Knowledge

Basic blue print reading, understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.

Basic computer skills.

Effectively utilize basic electrical and mechanical tools.

Welding skills preferred.

Ability to convey technical concepts and effectively communicate with fellow technicians, supervisors, and operations department personnel on a daily basis.
