Mammography & QA Lead Tech FT Days
Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Takes a lead role within the department. Ensures QA functions are performed at an optimal level. Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies and special procedures. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations. Performs quality analysis on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and MQSA standards. Troubleshoots if data falls out of acceptable range. Takes appropriate action to resolve issue. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results. Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients. Acts as a resource, related to Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations. Oversees daily tasks of department. Assists supervisor with scheduling and staff development. Ensures that staff are providing quality imaging and care. *Minimum Education* Graduate from a Radiologic Technology program - Required *Required Skills* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. *Required Skills* Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire. *Required Skills* Licenses: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) (M). *Minimum Work Experience* Two (2) years experience as a mammography technologist performing screening, diagnostic, biopsy and specimen procedures
