ASSISTANT COOK - PART TIME
Maintains and follows the instructions given by the Head Cook to assist in the preparing and serving of daily school lunches. Assumes responsibilities of the Head Cook during their absence. Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen following the HACCP policy. Assists in the preparation of lunches according to a planned menu while following the guidelines of the National School Lunch Program. Assists with the daily clean-up of the kitchen and cafeteria following the HACCP policy. Helps wipe tables in the cafeteria as needed. Can assist or accept weekly food shipments into the school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified and the HACCP policy has been followed for receiving shipments. Can assist in taking monthly inventory records of all food and shipments. Attends meetings and in-services as requested. Must have or be willing to get a Food Safety Managers Sanitation Certification through www.sfhcorp.com Supports Teamwork in the kitchen and cafeteria. Maintains a pleasant attitude with all staff and students. Physical Requirements: lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and working in hot and cold kitchen conditions. Other duties as assigned.
Hourly rate starting at $15.35
