In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. Under the supervision of the Student Finance Lead, the Student Finance Assistant role is multifaceted, performing a variety of financial and operational functions supporting the day-to-day tasks of the Berklee division of Pre-College, Online, and Professional Programs (POPP) Finance team and supporting Berklee Online students. This position offers the opportunity to gain key work experience for future internships and job opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile financial reports using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel Enter financial transactions with accuracy, including refunds, payments, and vouchers Contact students via email and phone regarding account credits, outstanding balances due, and refund or payment instructions Follow up with third party payers regarding outstanding invoices Update biographic information in multiple information systems Review and edit HTML email templates in Salesforce Assist with incoming email and phone communications from prospective and current students and families as needed Provide information about available financial aid and payment options Assist with account-related questions regarding tuition statements, payments, payment plans, balances, financial holds, refunds, and 1098-T tax documents Record holiday out of office voicemail greetings Assist students with financial policy questions related to add/drop procedures and refunds Audit and analyze students accounts to verify the information is current and accurate Assist the Military Affairs teams with data collection, data entry, and account audits as needed Perform special projects and create ad-hoc reports as requested Required Skills and Knowledge:
Microsoft Office / Google GSuite experience, especially with Excel & Sheets Great communication and organizational skills Customer service oriented Able to follow instructions Reliable and prompt Attention to detail Self-Starter
