Position Overview: The successful candidate will be an individual who firmly believes:

All students can and will learn, and their learning can be directly influenced by focusing on factors over which we have control. You can work interdependently with teachers, school, and district leaders throughout the system, aligning the work of adults around improving student learning by meeting students' needs, interests, and aspirations. You want to work with staff to continuously improve practices that enhance student and family engagement, creating the conditions for student success. Primary Responsibilities: Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

Provides daily cleaning services for school restrooms.

Scrubs and sanitizes sinks, countertops, door handles, faucets, toilet flush handles, soap, and paper dispenser handles. Cleans, polishes, and rinses chrome fixtures. Cleans and sanitizes toilet stools and urinals. Cleans mirrors and window ledges. Scrubs and sanitizes restroom floors. Refills paper goods, soap dispensers, and spray deodorizers. Provides custodial services for classrooms, offices, kitchen and dining areas, gymnasiums, entry ways and all other areas required in the school building.

Dust mops floors and hallways daily. Wet mops rooms when necessary. Wax rooms as required. Clean whiteboards as needed. Clean sinks and lunch areas daily. Scrub soap and towel dispensers, countertops, and walls daily. Wet mop nurse's office daily and sanitize countertops, sink, chair, desk, and refrigerator. Clean glass windows on doors daily. Clean gymnasiums as scheduled. Replace supplies in janitorial closets as needed. Replace mop heads as needed. Provide set-up and tear-down and general custodial support for activities and events. Monitor for safety and ensure the facility is locked and the building is secure. Vacuum or sweep entryways weekly. Sweep sand and dirt that accumulates outside of the school entryways. Dust ledges, door tops, and shelving. Maintains and vacuums all carpets in the school building.

Vacuum carpets and entry mats daily. Clean and disinfect spills and stains as required. Extract mats and portable carpets for deep cleaning quarterly. Provides trash disposal services for all areas of the building. Performs light maintenance and repair of grounds and school building. Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Skills:

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and building staff. Maintaining confidentiality standards for both students and staff. Following assigned custodial schedules and assignments following department standards and requirements. Working independently with minimal supervision. Using tools and cleaning equipment applicable to trade. Reading, understanding, and following safety procedures. Using various cleaning techniques and utilizing appropriate chemicals and cleaning equipment Qualifications: No previous work experience is required. On-the-job training is provided by the employer in all major aspects of the job. High School diploma required. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Salary: Based on CVSEC Master Agreement
