TITLE: Custodian (10am-6:30pm)
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Operations/Director of Operations
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month, 8.0 hours/day (1/2 hour unpaid meal break), $17.34/hr.
BENEFITS: Eligible, personal days, sick days, vacation days
LOCATION: Keith Valley Middle School
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES: This position will be from the hours of 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. With summer cleaning, the hours could change for this position. Keep school buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, and playgrounds, clean and safe at all times. This includes removal of snow and ice in a safe and timely manner according to established procedures. Daily cleaning of corridors with dry mop, wet mop as needed. Daily cleaning of classrooms includes kitchen and cafeteria vacuuming carpets and/or dry/wet mopping floors, cleaning whiteboard and desks/tables, emptying trash cans and replacing liners. Cans should be clean and free of debris. Daily cleaning of lavatories, including wet mopping floors, cleaning toilets and urinals, sinks and mirrors, checking and refilling paper towels, toilet paper, and soap, and emptying the trash. Daily cleaning of offices, locker facilities, boiler rooms, cafeteria, kitchen, and all other areas of the building as assigned by the Building Principal/Administrator/ Facilities Coordinator and/or Night Supervisor. Daily cleaning of faculty lounge, including dry/wet mopping, emptying trash cans, cleaning sinks and tables. Clean glass doors. All doors and windows are closed and locked in your areas for the security of the building. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies into, out of, or within the building to meet the needs of the students' education. Perform the restoration and maintenance of all floor surfaces, i.e.; vacuuming, dry/wet mopping, and stripping, waxing, and buffing floors Clean filters, as needed. Clean up spills and/or accidents caused by students, teachers, and/or other building staff. Polices exterior of building and grounds and cleans up vandalism/graffiti, as needed. Assists food service staff with moving large and/or heavy supplies and/or equipment, as requested. Assists in snow removal on District closed days. Maintains custodial closet in a clean, orderly, and safe condition always. Pool deck-offices-restroom Maintain swimming pool cleanliness: Conduct chemical tests of water, apply appropriate chemicals, and ensure proper pH and chemistry levels. Perform preventive maintenance: Inspect, adjust, and perform preventive maintenance on pool machinery and equipment, including pumps, filtration equipment, and controls. Conduct routine cleaning duties: Sweep, scrub, and vacuum swimming pools according to established procedures. Ensure safety and security: Inspect pool facilities for proper condition and operation, including gates, fencing, diving boards, ladders, lights, and safety equipment. Operate equipment: Use water chemistry test kits, pool vacuum, testing and calibration equipment, and hand and power tools.. Set up pool equipment: Coordinate schedules and resolve issues for swim classes, meets, and special events. Maintain records: Maintain state required records of operational parameters and procedures. These duties are crucial for providing a safe and enjoyable environment for students and staff, as well as ensuring the proper functioning of the swimming pool facilities.
