This position has a hybrid schedule, and the candidate must reside within the following county(s) within Region 8: Bexar, Kerr, Bandera, Gillespie, Kendall, Comal, Guadalupe, Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Wilson, Karnes, Victoria, De Witt, Lavaca, Calhoun, Jackson, Val Verde, Edwards, Real, Kinney, Uvalde, Medina, Maverick, Zavala and Dimmit County.
PRIMARY
FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY As a member of the Data Analytics team, the Data Quality Specialists work collaboratively with finance and other departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data related to children, families, placements services, and court hearings. Responsible for correcting inaccurate data, investigating data quality problems, and advocating for improvement in data workflows. Reconcile data entered in multiple internal and external data systems to ensure alignment. Validate data, identify, and fix data problems, and assist SJRC Texas & Belong with centralizing and standardizing data across units and programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure a client is accurately entered in all data systems. Responsible for the direct input of gathered data that is missing in the different data system. Oversees data related to client placements, level of care, and legal actions data systems. Creates and assists in the implementation of effective processes for gathering data from business units. Assist in meeting data entry needs as warranted by agency and contractual obligations. Ensure appropriate data entry of pending placements. Ensure discharges and transfers are completed in the software system. Collaborate with the Data Analytics and Finance Departments for placements and updates as well as adding correct date/time/location of placement. Support the requests or projects related to data and compliance. Identify placement and client data discrepancies between internal and external data systems. Work with internal and external staff to effectively identify and correct discrepant data as quickly as possible. Participate in quality improvement activities to improve compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness of data collection. Assist in conducting internal quality reviews and make recommendations for improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required: High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years’ applicable experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, statistics, or other applicable fields. Experience with data warehousing systems, SQL or Python scripting, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms. Familiarity with HIPAA, PII, and other privacy security requirements. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk. Stamina to work long days and drive long distances. Light to moderate lifting. Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions (with or without hearing aids). Must have the ability to read fine print, have sustained vision, and peripheral vision (with or without glasses). Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs. Minimum of 40 hours per week. Home-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise. Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting. Some travel between locations required. Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.
