Position Title: Facility Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Facility Maintenance Manager/Supervisor
Position Description: Provides for the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment located at Taurus Engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Follows instructions from the Facility Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to complete daily maintenance tasks. Tasks include, but are not limited to, the repair of electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, plumbing, and painting as needed to help facilitate a maintained working environment.
Performing scheduled maintenance on production equipment, forklifts, company vehicles, and other various tasks that ensure the safety of Taurus personnel.
Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues in machinery, production equipment, and company vehicles.
Maintains a clean and safe work area; promotes safe work practices and always observes safety procedures as outlined in Taurus safety policies to include local, state, and OSHA regulations Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment, as required Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect all employees, equipment, materials, and facilities Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Safety Officer, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager immediately, or as reasonably possible Operate a forklift, when needed, in completing maintenance tasks. Record completed work using a computer.
Supervision Responsibilities:
None
Organizational Responsibilities: Receives directions from the Facility Maintenance Manager or Facility Maintenance Supervisor. Interact professionally with other team members from various departments Responds to requests for repairs and requests from other departments as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Facility Maintenance Manager.
Qualification Requirements: Certain qualifications must be met for the successful performance of the essential functions of this position. The requirements listed below outline the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the satisfactory performance of this position. Minimum Qualifications: Proficient in reading, writing in English, and general math, Mechanical aptitude. Work safely with power tools and hand tools Climb up and down a ladder Basic trade knowledge in electricity, carpentry, and plumbing. Operate a forklift when required. 3 years experience in building maintenance or a related field.
Qualifications: Journeyman-level trade knowledge in electricity, carpentry, and plumbing. Welding experience. 5 years experience in facility maintenance or related field.
Travel: No regular travel is expected.
Computer Skills: Basic skills required.
Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts Moderate to loud noise level Warehouse environment Exposure to high heat occasionally Work in inclement weather Frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne (proper PPE and Chemical SDSs) May require occasional daily overtime to include weekends.
