The Family Law Program Specialist will be hired on a temporary period and is grant funded. This position will terminate on December 19, 2025. The Family Law Program Specialist works directly with the family law team and the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). The Family Law Program Specialist communicates with prospective clients and conducts intakes for the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN) and other Pro Bono Center clinics, as needed. The Family Law Program Specialist will assist the family law unit with the development and implementation of the program. The Family Law Program Specialist will staff additional Clinics as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and supports the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN) and other pro bono legal clinics (as needed) to include: serving as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, interviewing prospective clients by telephone and in-person, screening and tracking cases for referral, supporting attorneys in the pro bono clinics, coordinating all logistics for clinics, retaining interpreters, and confirming client appointments. Completes conflict checks for cases referred to the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Schedules and completes intakes for the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Coordinates and communicates with the partner organizations in the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Collects and manages data for the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Staffs the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN) in-person intake center at DC Superior Court. Assists clients remotely and in-person with administrative tasks when requested by the attorney. Assists in recruiting volunteers for the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Prepares and maintains client case files for the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN), including closing case files upon completion. Trains non-attorney volunteers and manages clients while providing on-site support at PBC Clinics. Supports FLAN/clinic outreach initiatives, drafts and distributes messages to D.C. legal service provider listservs, and updates probono.net/dc. Creates and maintains legal and non-legal referral guides. Assists in building relationships and collaborations with non-legal partners for the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Develops and drafts pro se materials for family law litigants. Accurately updates the PBC's client, case, and volunteer data, and helps devise and implement system improvements. Supports language access activities of the PBC remotely and in-person. Assists the Managing Attorney and Staff Attorney(s) with determining appropriate case placements with volunteer law firms and attorneys. Drafts forms, reports, correspondence, notices, and other documents. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant work experience. Ability to work evenings and weekends for a variety of Pro Bono Center clinics and events, including clinics/events with the partner organizations in the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN). Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat. Must be able to interact with individuals with diverse backgrounds, including people of limited means, with patience and compassion. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented and deadline driven. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact, including in-person, with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees. Must work well under pressure, possess excellent organizational abilities, and able to manage several priorities in a day. Must be adaptable, creative, and self-motivated. Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree.

This position is currently a hybrid position, with days worked in the office and days worked remotely. The hybrid status of this position may change at any time subject to the Pro Bono Center's discretion.
