Your Role
The People & Engagement Technology team is a critical member of the IT Applications organization and is responsible for providing technical and functional leadership for multiple products in the HR Technology portfolio. It provides product and system solutions to support digital transformation, automation, application security, regulatory compliance, and end-user support. The Senior Manager, People & Engagement Technology will report to the Senior Director, People & Engagement Technology. In this role you will be a strategic leader that is solution-driven and results-oriented, and will work collaboratively across the enterprise (e.g., P&E COEs and leadership, enterprise IT, Analytics & Reporting, Planning, Finance, Agile Team) to evaluate vendor solutions, design, build, and implement technology solutions, and manage and enhance deployed applications.
Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will: Develop and evaluate new product concepts, designs, and/or enhancements to existing product design that reflect business and user needs Stay updated on external market trends, new technologies, technology trends and competitors to bring innovative solutions to meet business needs Provide input to new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall function results Partner with P&E Technology leadership team to establish operational plans and measure through dashboard reporting to show progress, risks/opportunities, and results Partner with business stakeholders and lead through influence to conduct strategic planning and create product roadmap. Define and drive product vision, roadmap, prioritization and plan functionality Accountable as 'quarterback' for leading strategic and application development from concept to production, including partnering with COE stakeholders and providing oversight of end-to-end solution design, build, test, and deployment for scope of applications Manage and execute product roadmap for multiple products to keep it on-track and under budget; Review backlog, risk and issue areas, and proactively plan mitigation. Manage product lifecycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities, specifying requirements for current and future products Manage product backlog and coordinate to plan product release schedule ensuring successful delivery by P&E Teach and IT teams Partner with IT to manage and update P&E applications inventory Support enterprise inorganic growth strategic and integration efforts Lead business stakeholder discussions for planning - provide feasibility, effort and capacity needs and proactively raise risks for any potential impacts. Influence and inform strategy in transforming and evolving the product and technology as a strategic thought partner Articulate functional and technical trade-offs, and influence business stakeholders towards optimal solution delivery Lead, direct and review the work of a mid-size technology team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments ensuring successful service delivery to COEs at the appropriate support levels Responsible for building and growing a high performing team; supporting team through encouragement and by example Build credibility as a thoughtful, creative, and effective communicator, having integrity and empathy, and passion Communicate with and influence senior leadership regarding matters of significant importance like solution design and prioritization of backlog Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a college degree or equivalent and minimum 10-year prior relevant experience, including 4 years of management experience Requires an understanding of Human Resources functions and business processes Requires experience with Oracle HCM Cloud or Workday. 5+ years of HR Technology development, configuration, and optimizing experience. Experience with ServiceNow, UltiPro, UKG WFM Pro, JIRA and other technologies strongly preferred Significant experience leading large, complex, enterprise-wide products and system implementations that have strategic importance to the organization is strongly preferred Ability to apply Agile methodology Critical thinker with the ability to develop multi-year product and technology roadmap and innovative solutions Ability to lead through influence, manage stakeholders, and serve as a leader across People & Engagement projects Advanced knowledge and skills including technical or functional expertise, business acumen, risk management, delegation skills, and decision-making skills Strong results-oriented leader aligned with Blue Shield's leadership model Experience with building high performing teams by providing guidance, coaching, and training to team members Excellent verbal / written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills #LI-CM1
