Description
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician I to join our dedicated Maintenance Team. As the Lead Technician of the department, you will play a vital role in supporting the Chief Engineer and the Maintenance Team with the day-to-day operations of the property. This hands-on position involves performing expert maintenance and repairs across a wide range of hotel systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire, and safety, and more. Your work will directly impact the guest experience, requiring a professional, courteous, and prompt approach at all times. In addition, you will be responsible for carrying out the property's Preventive Maintenance Program in accordance with company standards.
This is a full-time position that requires open availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and a physical fitness test.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Lead and coordinate routine preventative maintenance across guest rooms and property buildings. Diagnose and perform repairs on a variety of hotel systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Respond promptly and effectively to guest room and public area maintenance requests. Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately and efficiently. Respond to emergencies such as power failures or fire safety issues. Maintain organized and clean equipment areas, storage, and workspaces. Install, relocate, or service mechanical/electrical systems and equipment as needed. Perform minor repairs on room fixtures, lighting, TVs, and furnishings. Understand and locate property shut-offs (gas, electric, water). Report major repair needs to the Chief Engineer. Protect company assets by properly securing tools and supplies. Inspect facilities regularly, identify maintenance needs, and prioritize accordingly. Act as supervisor to the Maintenance Team when the Chief Engineer is absent. Adhere to safety and health regulations including Cal-OSHA, HazCom, and PPE standards. Compensation & Benefits:

Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting Extensive hands-on experience in commercial painting Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool systems, and general finish work Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in computer systems and effective in verbal, written, and electronic communication Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously Outstanding guest service and interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor Proven ability to foster a team-oriented, positive work environment Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics Required certifications: OSHA 10 (General Industry) CPO (Certified Pool Operator) HVAC Certification Electrical Certification Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation Speak, hear, and understand speech at normal levels with or without aid. Ability to comprehend, carry out and explain verbal and written instructions. Ability to see and focus with or without visual aids while doing functions of the job. General dexterity for firm and simple grasping of objects, such as use of small repair tools. Occasional - climbing up and down ladders up to 32 feet, twisting of waist, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, pulling, and reaching above and below shoulder level, sitting.
You must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, bend, stoop and be on knees; reach and lift above, below and at shoulder level; lift and carry equipment and supplies; constantly walk and stand for long periods (up to 4 hours) and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; walking over uneven ground and up and down stairs to service guests with or without reasonable accommodation
