The Associate Director of Academic Initiatives will serve as a member of leadership for the Academic Success Center (ASC), with primary responsibilities including oversight of data-driven academic intervention programs, contributing to student success efforts across the Division of Student Success. This role will lead strategic initiatives in academic probation, early alert systems, and data analytics, including program assessment, intervention strategies, and outcomes tracking, while serving as key leadership support to the Director. The position involves direct supervision of four Academic Coaches and one Coordinator, with critical responsibilities in data analysis, student intervention program development, and cross-campus collaboration. The Associate Director will drive continuous improvement of academic support systems, focusing on innovative approaches to identify and support students through data-informed strategies and interdepartmental partnerships. Responsibilities

Data Management and Analytics: Drive Academic Success Center data strategy through management and analysis of complex datasets while maintaining data quality and integrity. Develop and deliver comprehensive data analysis for leadership using visualization tools, translating complex institutional data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. Synthesize diverse data sources, including learning outcomes, student retention metrics, satisfaction surveys, and benchmarking studies, to provide evidence-based recommendations for program improvements. Demonstrate commitment to professional growth through ongoing training in data analysis, visualization, and reporting tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Supervision and Leadership: Provide direct supervision of four academic coaches and one full-time coordinator, providing ongoing training and development, and implementing feedback mechanisms to enhance student outcomes and staff engagement. Train and support ASC staff on academic probation processes and alert system procedures to ensure consistent and effective student support. Serve as a key leadership support to the Director in managing the overall operations of the Academic Success Center. Collaborate strategically with Division of Student Success units to align and enhance academic initiatives and interdepartmental effectiveness. Academic Intervention and Probation Management: Lead comprehensive management of the Academic Success Centers academic intervention initiatives, including oversight of academic probation programs and dismissal reinstatement processes. Design and implement strategies to drive student engagement with the appropriate academic support resources. Analyze intervention program effectiveness through tracking student participation, academic progress, and retention outcomes. Build and maintain strong partnerships with campus support offices, academic colleges, and key stakeholders to create comprehensive support networks for students in academic recovery. Academic Alerts Oversight: Provide strategic oversight for the Academic Alert program through data-informed initiatives, developing innovative approaches to identify patterns and trends that enable the support of students before academic challenges emerge or escalate. Support the development and maintenance of faculty and departmental partnerships to enhance alert system engagement and create strategies for specific courses and student populations. Assess and enhance the effectiveness of the Academic Alert program through ongoing evaluation of outcomes, student engagement metrics, and intervention success rates. Guide and supervise the Academic Intake Coordinator to ensure efficient processing of alerts and effective connection of students to appropriate support resources. Qualifications

Required Qualifications Experience: Combined 5 years full-time professional experience in data analysis, higher education, or related field; demonstrated experience supervising full-time staff or managing complex projects; experience in data analytics, data management, and/or statistical research. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to manage multiple projects and develop practical solutions to complex problems while staying student-centered; knowledge and demonstrated experience in professional environments working with data analysis, student services, or related fields; ability to build collaborative relationships and lead teams across different departments; ability to learn and apply data analysis concepts and tools while maintaining attention to detail; skill in organizing, analyzing, and presenting information clearly to diverse audiences; knowledge of basic SQL and database concepts. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Preferred experience working with a learning assistance office in higher education institutions; 2+ years of experience in data analysis, working with large datasets and creating comprehensive data visualizations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of best practices in student development, retention, and academic intervention models; proficiency in SQL coding and database management; skill in using data analysis tools, survey platforms, and reporting systems (e.g., Tableau/Argos [reporting], Qualtrics [surveying], etc.).
