Shift: 7:30am - 4pm (Mon-Fri) Job Summary:
Under general supervision, cleans teeth, examines head, neck and oral areas for signs of oral disease. May educate clients on oral hygiene, take and develop X-rays or apply fluoride or sealants. Job Description:
Applies fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist. Checks lymph nodes under client's chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate presence of oral cancer. Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums, using dental instruments. Exposes and develops x-ray film. Feels and visually examine gums, using probes, to locate sores, periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Makes impressions for study casts. Provides clinical services and health education to clients and/or staff to improve and maintain oral health. Removes excess cement from coronal surfaces of teeth May serve as a lead worker Preferred Qualifications:
Dental Hygiene certification from an accredited dental program and dental hygiene license in good standing with the State of Georgia.
