Job DescriptionInova Outpatient Cardiology is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Sonographer 3 to join the team. This role will be a Full Time Day Shift: 7:30am to 4:30pm. Cardiovascular Sonographer 3 Job Responsibilities: The Cardiovascular Sonographer 3 ensures the safety of patients by administering sound patient care practices according to hospital/department policies and procedures. Maintains equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees. Provides clinical services according to diagnostic echo vascular principles, theory and practice standards to ensure optimal department functions. Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction. Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast, or other test-enhancing solution, under the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Standards. Operates imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the EMR and PACS Systems reports. Assist departmental leadership in obtaining or maintaining ICAL accreditation. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of echo vascular principles/theory, anatomy and pathology processes utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations. May perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical sonography or five additional years of experience in specialized training in a hospital/healthcare Experience: Three years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography. Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start. One of the following: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); Certification Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered with Registered Cardiovascular Specialist (RCS); Certification for Echo ARDMS with Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) CCI with the RVS Certification for Vascular.About UsWe are Inova, Northern Virginia's leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
