Prepares special procedures lab and sterile table for various procedures. Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination. Checks emergency equipment each day. Preforms daily Quality Control on equipment. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintain inventory in a cost effective manner. Puts all exams in Taken status immediately after completion of exam. Checks ancillary audit trail daily to assure all charges are correct.Positions and preps patient for procedures. Assures all consents, H & P are available prior to procedure. Monitors patient condition during procedure by observation, EKG, and blood pressure via physiological monitor. Coordinates patient monitoring with procedure nurse. Positions equipment according to physician instructions. Analyzes and interprets data for physician reports. Be able to route images to PACS and burn CD's as necessary. Assures terminal cleaning of special procedures room has been completed by Environmental Services when procedure is completed.Explains procedures to patients and family to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
