The Radiology Management Team consists of a Radiology Coordinator, Manager, and Supervisor. Typically, 15 Radiology Technologists are scheduled for every 24 hours. Work schedules generally include 8-hour shifts, with weekend requirements varying by proficiency in CT. If proficient, candidates may be scheduled for 7 AM or 3 PM shifts; otherwise, general Radiologic Technologists may be scheduled for later shifts. Ultrasound Technologists may work a half shift on Saturday mornings, with potential standby/call options if approved. Holidays are covered by call. Shift times for Radiologic Technologists may vary depending on CT experience. The facility provides scrubs for all staff members. Radiologists are available on-site or on-call, depending on the case. Orientation length varies based on experience and specific qualifications. The CT department uses Siemens 64-slice and 128-slice equipment, with Ultrasound utilizing Philips equipment. Common diagnoses involve typical hospital patients, including those from the emergency room, operating room, and outpatient care. It's preferable for basic Radiologic Technologists to hold a Fluoroscopy permit for operating room and routine work. Having CT and Mammography certifications is a significant advantage, along with experience in venipuncture. A candidate with extensive operating room experience is highly desirable. Mammography Technologists should have received tomography training. There is a cancellation policy in place allowing for the cancellation of shifts as needed. Charting is done through the Cerner system. This role operates in an acute care setting.
