Location: 3175 Satellite Boulevard Suite 340, Duluth, Georgia 30096 Summary: The Accounting Clerk is responsible for computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases. Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment. Investigate problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills. Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items. Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy. Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers. Extracts general ledger information. Compiles cost reports and revenue and balance sheets. Reconciles bank statements. Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date. Reconciles report discrepancies and problems. Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures. Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections. Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services. Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area. Participates in required training. Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system. Follows Safeguards rules and regulations. Demonstrates the Company's Core Values. Complies with Company policies and procedures. Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties. Other duties as assigned. Desired Education: GED High School Diploma Associate Degree Bachelor Degree Master Degree Doctorate Degree Field of Study: Accounting Automotive Business Human Resources Information Technology Desired Work Experience: Up to 3 years 3-5 years 5+ years Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Accounting experience in a high volume environment desired. Strong organizational skills required. Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver's License Automobile Salesperson License Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Ability to learn the Dealership Management System, Spreadsheet software, accounting software, and inventory software. Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with company personnel. Attendance Expectations: The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Environment Demands: Duties are performed primarily at a desk in an office setting. Work includes frequent clerical and administrative responsibilities and interaction with managers and employees.
