The
Manager, Materials Logistics
at
LSG Sky Chefs
is responsible for overseeing the efficient planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to ensure seamless operational support for airline catering services. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, supplier coordination, and compliance with safety and quality standards, driving cost efficiency and service excellence. By leading logistics teams, implementing process improvements, and leveraging data-driven decision-making, the Manager, Materials Logistics ensures timely and cost-effective material availability, contributing to overall operational success and customer satisfaction. Main Accountabilities
Strategic Execution & Policy Implementation
Implement and enforce
supply chain policies and procedures
aligned with corporate guidelines to drive consistency and efficiency. Ensure compliance with
quality, delivery, and cost objectives
across all operating units. Supply Chain & Inventory Management
Oversee
inventory management
across the region, ensuring alignment with financial and customer expectations. Optimize
food cost, variance, Days on Hand (DOH), APW issues, and K-line spend
to improve operational efficiency. Support Materials Managers in
demand planning, ordering, receiving, storage, and requisition processes
to maintain optimal stock levels. Lead initiatives to
track product usage and yields
for better forecasting and procurement decisions. Drive cost-saving projects to enhance
bottom-line performance . Ensure full
regulatory compliance
with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and other industry standards. Support company-wide initiatives such as
Global Quality Standards (GQS), HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, and Employee Safety Programs . Leadership & Team Development
Build and lead a high-performing
Materials Management Team
across the region. Provide
coaching, motivation, and development opportunities
to enhance team capabilities. Manage cost budgets within the department and
implement corrective actions
when needed. This role is critical in driving
operational excellence, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance
while fostering a high-performance culture within the supply chain network. Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in
Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent experience 8+ years
of experience in
supply chain operations, logistics, or materials management Hands-on experience in
forecasting, demand planning, and vendor management Strong expertise in
inventory, warehouse, and material handling management Deep knowledge of
demand planning, vendor management, and lean supply chain practices Proven ability to
set a clear vision, establish goals, and execute strategic plans Excellent
analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong
communication and leadership abilities
to engage with employees, vendors, and customers at all levels Proficient in
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP MM Demonstrated success in
process improvement, change management, and driving operational excellence
