As Dallas county's only public hospital, Parkland Health's Emergency Department is one of the busiest emergency centers in the nation. The position includes opportunities for supervision of faculty, supervision of trainees of various disciplines, and participation in the department's academic mission. The Medical Director will work within the multidisciplinary emergency services team including partners from nursing, social work, and advanced practice providers. This position includes dedicated medical administrative time with the specific clinical, educational, and research interests of the applicant, along with the needs of the department, ultimately determining the exact effort distribution of the selected faculty member.Candidates must have an M.D./D.O. and be board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. The successful candidate will have previous clinical leadership experience and a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career. Academic experience and a strong track record of clinical teaching is a plus.
