City Council Campaign Manager North Shore Strategies – Staten Island, New York City Compensation: $4,000 - $5,000+ per month, commensurate with experience Start Date / End Date: 08/17/2025 - 11/04/2025 North Shore Strategies is seeking a committed and experienced Campaign Manager to lead a Democratic Staten Island City Council campaign. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, detail-oriented planner, and hands-on leader with proven experience in campaign management, communications, and field coordination. This role requires strong interpersonal and analytical skills, political acumen, and a deep commitment to advancing Democratic values in local governance. About the Role As Campaign Manager, you will serve as the chief strategist and executor of the campaign’s day-to-day operations, working directly with the candidate, consultants, and staff to implement a winning plan. You will oversee field, communications, scheduling, fundraising coordination, and compliance workflows, ensuring all components operate efficiently and in sync with the overall campaign strategy. Primary Responsibilities Develop and manage the overall campaign plan, including field, communications, and fundraising strategies. Oversee day-to-day campaign operations, ensuring departments stay on track and meet key deadlines. Supervise staff and coordinate with consultants, vendors, and volunteers to execute campaign goals. Support the candidate’s schedule, public events, and community engagement efforts. Work with the Field Director to manage voter contact efforts, track data, and adjust tactics as needed. Assist with campaign messaging, materials, and basic press or social media coordination. Collaborate with the fundraising team to help meet finance goals and stay compliant with regulations. Build relationships with local organizations, Democratic clubs, and community leaders. Monitor campaign performance, report progress, and flag issues to senior advisors or the candidate. Ensure a professional, team-oriented work environment that reflects campaign values. Qualifications At least 2 election cycles of experience in campaign organizing or management Proven ability to manage a small, agile team in a fast-paced campaign environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. Deep familiarity with New York City’s political landscape, especially the nuances of outer-borough communities, cross-party outreach, and localized voter issues. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with community leaders, unions, civic groups, and both Democratic base voters and swing constituencies. Experience navigating diverse political environments, including outreach to multilingual, multigenerational, and working-class voter bases. Comfort working across campaign functions—field, communications, scheduling, and compliance—with fluency in tools like VAN, MiniVAN, Google Workspace, and SMS/mobilization platforms. Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to represent the candidate’s voice and vision in public-facing settings. Ability to maintain poise under pressure, adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and solve complex logistical or political challenges. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of the campaign calendar.
