As a Parts Specialist, you will deliver a superior customer experience by providing parts consultation and sales to our customers, including over the counter and shop customers. Primary responsibilities include courteously and quickly greeting all walk-in and call-in customers, assisting customers in a consultative manner to provide the best parts solution for their needs, gaining proficiency in parts knowledge and continuing to grow as new products are introduced, employing superior listening skills and assessing customers' needs, advising customers of additional related parts, informing customers of specials and merchandising programs, following up quickly with customers on back ordered items and communicating any changes in delivery dates or availability, creating purchase orders prior to placing orders with vendors for all non-Cat back orders, initiating outbound sales calls to customers as directed by parts supervision, handling and processing cash, check, and credit card transactions in compliance with company policy and procedures, being available to work overtime on short notice and provide after hours support when required, successfully completing all required training, and reviewing the will-call area weekly, contacting customers on items not picked up and returning items to inventory, as needed. Additional responsibilities include participating in required safety program, and working in a safe manner, as well as any additional duties as assigned by manager. To be successful in this position you should have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position and the desire to learn. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well. Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Required qualifications/skills include excellent communication skills both over the phone and in person, ability to quickly pick up on different software and websites used in searching and ordering parts, work with a sense of urgency and organization, be able to act as a consultant on parts and service, rather than an order taker, ability to become forklift certified, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally higher amounts with assistant devices. Preferred qualifications/skills include prior Parts Counter experience in a similar industry. At Yancey Bros.
