Ocean Properties is seeking an experienced Business Transient & Group Sales Manager to represent two hotels in the Bangor market.

This position will be responsible for growing existing corporate accounts, adding new accounts, and booking Group business.

This individual must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be aggressive in targeting new business, and maintain strong relationships with existing local group and transient accounts.

This position requires strong sales skills in both Business Transient & Group segments.

Sales Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing all Local Negotiated Rates for two (2) properties.

Responsible for managing all Group business for two (2) properties from contracting stage through execution.

Detail all groups with meeting space to include food and beverage, audio-visual needs, group resumes etc. Manage group room blocks. Ensure clients are met at the beginning and end of each meeting.

Prospect for new transient & group business utilizing outside sales calls, solicitations, cold calls, and site inspections.

40% of each week should be directed toward proactive initiatives both on the phone and out in the market.

A minimum of 10-12 outside sales calls should be made each week.

Resolicit and rebook existing group and transient business

Track all leads (including lost/turndown) within Delphi

Review occupancy reports daily

Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details within Delphi

Establish parameters, quotes and negotiate pricing

Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations as needed

Work closely with hotel staff to ensure all details of the contract were delivered and guests depart satisfied

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required

Prepare account performance reports quarterly and annually, conduct semi-annual account review meetings with account representatives.

Maintain in-depth files on all accounts

Understand transient sales strategies, strengths and weaknesses of comp set

Participate in weekly sell strategy meetings, and other departmental meetings as required

Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.

Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication

Achieves activity goals as established by management and completes all reports and assignments in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

2+ years of successful hotel sales experience

Knowledge of Marriott brand systems beneficial

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Must possess strong customer service and problem solving skills

Exceptional detail in follow-up

Strong computer skills—Delphi experience preferred

Willing to travel on a weekly basis in the surrounding area
