POSITION SUMMARY
The role is responsible for providing clean and sanitized linens, towels, and garments. This role handles the washing, drying, folding, and ironing of laundry while ensuring proper care for various fabrics and materials. Laundry Attendants maintain an organized workflow, manage inventory, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-sort and separate all linens.
Load all laundry into washer selecting appropriate program for linens.
Remove wet, clean laundry from washer and place in dryer while inspecting for any stains.
Properly treat any stains.
Record any stained linens that are unacceptable for guest room use for linen inventory.
Dry clean, wet linens on appropriate setting in dryer.
Sort and fold clean dried items.
Deliver cleaned linens to appropriate floor or area of hotel.
Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies, chemicals, and communicate needs to management.
Trim loose strands from any towels, blankets, etc. as needed.
Ensure linens are in good condition, free of wear, tear and stains.
Clean floor drains.
Maintain properly cleanliness of dryer vents.
Maintain all laundry equipment and inform the Chief Engineer of any maintenance needs.
Must handle all chemicals properly and apply as directed.
Turn in any personal guest items - follows established Lost & Found protocol.
All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge of laundry procedures, fabric care, and stain removal techniques.
Ability to operate and maintain laundry equipment, such as washers, dryers, and irons.
Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and cleanliness standards are met.
Organizational skills for sorting and managing laundry inventory.
Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Must be able to handle a crisis in a calm, effective manner including upset guests, fire, tornado, armed robbery and assault, bomb threats and accidents.
