Starting Salary: $155,000/yr
Requirements to apply:
Graduation from an accredited Optometry Program
Active and unrestricted CA Optometrist License
Current BLS certification

Job Overview:
The Optometrist provides comprehensive eye care within a community clinic setting, serving patients of all ages. Responsibilities include performing eye exams, diagnosing vision and ocular health issues, and assessing depth perception, color vision, and eye coordination. The Optometrist also prescribes corrective lenses and manages eye conditions within their scope of practice. When appropriate, they coordinate referrals for additional care and work collaboratively with the broader healthcare team to support integrated patient services.
What are the benefits?
15 working days (3 weeks) per year, increasing to 4 weeks after 3 years of service
State licensure, DEA, and Recertification fees will be paid by the employer
CME (5) days paid leave annually; in addition, reimbursement of up to $2,100 annually for expenses relating to CME
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Long-term Disability, 403-B Retirement, Incentive Bonus
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess visual acuity, diagnose abnormalities, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and vision aids; prescribe medications as allowed by law.
Document patient care accurately using the Electronic Health Record, including follow-up on chronic conditions and no-show evaluations.
Refer patients to medical providers or support services as needed and consult with physicians for complex cases.
Actively participate in team-based care through peer review, quality improvement initiatives, and clinician meetings.
