Role - Systems Analyst
Location: Baltimore, MD Long Term Contract This role is responsible for ensuring the Electric Health Records (EHR) interfaces appropriately with all systems and meets agency, state, federal, and third-party reporting requirements. The role will collaborate with business analysts, program management, and the technical support team. The Systems Analyst will guide technology solutions for the Maryland Department of Health modernization efforts, ensuring best practices and standardized processes are implemented efficiently. Initially assigned to the EHR project, the role may support additional projects as needed. Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in configuring the EHR system and related hardware to meet MDH requirements. Conduct tests on data to validate system functionality. Work with users to resolve configuration issues. Maintain and troubleshoot core business applications and hardware. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements. Develop requirement specifications, data mapping, and flowcharts for developers and testers. Translate technical specifications into understandable requirements. Manage system setup and configuration. Develop and execute testing procedures and cases. Document processes and provide training as needed. Implement maintenance procedures and monitor system health. Perform system design, upgrades, and implement best practices for performance and supportability. Analyze data to identify patterns and trends, and create reports. Assist in defining data governance goals and techniques. Develop procedural manuals and train administrators. Ensure data exchange and reporting functions are operational through testing. Collaborate with developers during implementation and testing phases. Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field. Master's Degree and relevant IT certifications are preferred. Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience as a computer systems analyst. At least 5 years of experience as an EHR configuration analyst. Experience in data mining, modeling, and dictionary design. Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills. Experience with database management, programming languages, data migration, and system integration protocols such as SFTP, XML, Web Services, FHIR. Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience managing small teams. Experience with CMS reporting, health data exchange, and EHR projects. Additional Details:
