About Henricksen Henricksen (Itasca, IL) is a full-service contract furniture dealership specializing in office, healthcare, education, government, senior living, and hospitality spaces. Founded in 1962, it has grown into a leading national dealership with twelve offices across several states, 300+ employees, and annual sales exceeding $300 million. Henricksen offers a wide array of products including systems furniture, casegoods, seating, and architectural solutions, and is a major partner of HNI brands. Job Summary This position is based in our Chicago or Itasca/Oak Brook, IL office. The Designer collaborates with Account Executives, Clients, and Support Teams to create functional, creative design solutions that meet project needs and client expectations. Responsibilities include programming, space planning, finish palettes, drawings, specifications, and field verification, contributing to an exceptional client experience. Participate in project meetings to define scope, deliverables, and timelines. Develop and present design solutions that optimize client space and engagement. Negotiate design details in line with standards and priorities. Manage multiple projects efficiently, gathering programming data, developing schematic designs, estimating costs, and ensuring quality and accuracy. Address issues proactively and develop finish palettes for client approval. Engage clients in real-time to outline design intent. Create drawings and renderings, advise on design applications, and coordinate with consultants and installers. Maintain organized project documentation. Maintain professionalism and positive communication to enhance client experience. Adapt to project needs and leverage past interactions to improve service. Requirements
Qualifications - Education and Experience
Associates degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related field. Knowledge of design and specifications software (AutoCAD, Revit, Configura CET, etc.). Industry knowledge in systems furniture, construction, and workplace issues. Ability to manage multiple projects with organization and creativity. Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and effective communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Preferred
College degree from a CIDA-accredited program. 2+ years of relevant experience. Experience with Configura CET software. NCIDQ certification or state license. Additional Information
