Role Overview As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and control systems within our data center projects are installed, tested, and functioning according to project requirements and industry best practices. You’ll work closely with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless handover of facilities that are ready for operation from day one. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for data center projects. Perform functional testing and performance verification for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, including UPS, generators, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units, fire suppression, and BMS controls. Review design documents and equipment submittals to verify compliance with project specifications and commissioning standards. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to track commissioning progress and resolve issues. Document and maintain detailed commissioning reports, test results, and punch lists. Lead site-based commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines. Provide technical guidance during troubleshooting and ensure systems meet redundancy and resiliency requirements. Participate in client training and system handover meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of commissioning experience, preferably in data center or mission-critical environments. Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, mechanical cooling systems, and control systems. Familiarity with commissioning standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and IEEE. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, construction-driven environment and travel to project sites.
