Intellectual Property Patent Agent (Electrical, Software, or Computer Science)

Patent Agent Direct Counsel is seeking a Patent Agent to join a well-regarded law firm’s Intellectual Property group. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution. About the Role:
The firm is actively recruiting a skilled Patent Agent with expertise in
electrical engineering, software, computer science, or related fields
to assist with patent preparation and prosecution. This role involves working on cutting-edge technologies, including AI and machine learning, and provides the opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical, software, and computer science technologies. Conduct prior art searches and analyze patentability. Assist in developing patent strategies for clients. Work closely with inventors, engineers, and in-house counsel to secure intellectual property rights. Stay current with technological advancements and legal developments in patent law. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in
electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field . Minimum of
2+ years of experience
in patent preparation and prosecution. Experience with
AI and machine learning patents . Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
is required. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a client-focused, team-oriented environment. Work Environment & Compensation:
Hybrid work schedule (2-3 days in-office on average). Competitive salary range of
$110,000–$180,000 , with actual compensation based on experience, location, and qualifications. Productivity and discretionary bonuses available. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, accident, and insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. Strong potential for professional growth and advancement.
