Seeking a Medical Director in Park Slope, Brooklyn!
Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital is a companion animal\npractice in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. We are currently\na 6+ doctor practice, and seeking a grow-oriented Medical Director. Our\nclientele is eager and able to do what’s best for their pet, with a steady\nclient base that will quickly be established with a new doctor. We have a\nhighly skilled support staff of over 25, with 9 licensed or license- eligible\ntechnicians.
Multiple doctors are Fear-free certified and our technicians and\nassistants are embracing that, as well as cat-friendly handling.
As the Medical\nDirector, you'll keep doing what you love - practicing veterinary medicine and\nseeing the furry faces that make your day. But you'll also provide vital\nmedical leadership, oversee the veterinary team, ensure growth and quality, and\ncultivate an environment where exceptional pet care thrives. You'll develop\nmedical protocols, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with the practice manager\non finances, budgeting, and operational optimization.
What we offer: \n
Annual\n salary of $185,000 - $250,000, based on experience \n

Dental\n suite area with digital dental radiographs, and experienced dental\n technicians to perform COHATs, charting, and full mouth dental radiographs\n on every dental procedure. \n
Separate\n cat and dog ward spaces \n
Antech\n lab referral and Avimark EMR \n
Potential\n for overnight stays with a licensed technician \n Skills and Basic Qualifications \n
5+\n years of experience in the field \n
A\n Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an\n accredited university, plus active NY license \n
A\n commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding\n the veterinary code of ethics. \n
The\n ability to delegate responsibility and achieve results with hospital team\n members. \n
Capable\n of quality decision making. \n
The\n ability to coach, correct, develop, and motivate employees. \n
Demonstrates\n excellent time and task management. \n
Demonstrates\n professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients. \n About our team: Animal Kind has been a staple in our community for over 30\nyears. Our employees are long-tenured and work closely together towards the\nsame goal: to provide the best preventative, medical, surgical, and dental care\npossible to our patients, while supporting the well-being of all staff members.\nWe like to have fun at work when we can, by celebrating the holidays with\nbowling parties and potlucks, and throwing in the occasional ugly
sweater\ncompetition. We utilize a boarded surgeon for orthopedic or complicated\nsoft tissue procedures on a non-emergent basis, and a visiting cardiologist who\ncan be scheduled for echocardiograms. We have great relationships with the\nlocal
specialty/emergency
clinics both utilizing and referring to the\nspecialist consultation services available, and refer when indicated. We have doctor rounds daily to discuss cases, and extended\nmeetings monthly, lunch and learn seminars, sharing pearls from CE and\nwebinars, and discussing goals, strategies and protocols for the practice and\nstaff.
About the area: The Park Slope neighborhood is a lovely area, within walking\ndistance of Prospect Park and the F train, with a bus stop in front of the\npractice. Parking and transportation subsidies are available - but many of our\nvets have lived within walking/biking distance of the clinic. We have\ntree-lined streets with lots of great stores and eateries - lots of options for\nlunch orders!
