Job Description
Locums – Portland, Maine CRNA Opportunity Multiple Openings | Level I Trauma Center Assignment Details:
Start Date: February 2026 Contract Length: Preferred: 6-months Minimum: 3-months (with option to extend) Schedule: 36–40 hours/week 10- or 12-hour shifts Common shifts: 7:00–17:30, 7:00–19:30 Other shifts may include: 9:00–19:30, 9:00–21:30, 11:00–23:30 No overtime — additional hours paid at regular rate Standard unpaid lunch and 15-min breaks included Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: ~120 days
Practice Info:
Setting: Hospital-based (Maine Medical Center) Trauma Level: I ER Volume: 60,000+ visits/year Operating Rooms: 50 Average Surgical Cases Per Day: ~100 Pain Management Cases: None EMR: Epic Supervision & Team Structure:
Model: Medical direction billing Collaborative practice alongside physician anesthesiologists Supportive OR team and staff culture focused on patient-centered care Dedicated pediatric, OB, thoracic CRNA teams (locums will not cover these) Patient Demographic:
All ages, but locum CRNAs will focus only on adult cases Required Procedures (Adults Only):
General surgical cases Spinal anesthesia Neurosurgical cases Local infiltration Ventilation management CRNAs will NOT perform: Open hearts Regional anesthesia Central lines Requirements:
Board Certified CRNA – Required ME State License – Highly preferred (will consider candidates needing licensure) BLS, ACLS – Required >1 year of Level 1 Trauma Center experience as a CRNA – Required PALS – Optional Reason for Coverage:
